Online Databases
Finding Articles
Below are links to various databases which students, faculty, and staff can use to do research & find articles on a host of different topics.  For help with access or searching, please feel free to Ask the Librarian.
You must either be on campus or connected through
our proxy server to access these databases!
  • EBSCOhost
  • Use the link above to select major databases (Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, MasterFILE Premier, and Regional Business News) you would like to search.  Descriptions of the databases' coverage are also listed on this page.  You can click a database's title to start searching it, or use the check boxes to search more than one at a time.

  • ProQuest Newsstand Complete
  • Search here to find articles from newspapers and other news sources from around the world.  Although dates vary, many of these full-text sources go back to the early 1990s, or even the mid-'80s.

  • WorldCat
  • This resource is a catalog of items held by member libraries around the world (not Academy College).  Many of these items will have information like excerpts and reviews as well as the title, author, and location (which library/libraries have a copy).

  • InfoTrac
  • Though mostly made up of K-12 resources, the InfoTrac databases include some Spanish-language databases as well.  Scroll to the very bottom to find the "Professional Collection," which has articles on professional development.
  • Online Encyclopedia
  •   Academy College has a subscription to the online version of Encyclopædia Britannica, Britannica Online.  As with our other subscription services, this resource has restricted on campus/proxy access.
